What did Jesus say about how Christians should engage with the culture-

Our sermon, -Micaiah-, is from 2 Chronicles 18 and asks the question, -Should someone who does the right thing suffer-- We'll find the answer in this story about a prophet and two kings.

Is it still sin if we act unintentionally- We can find the answer in the tragic story of Uzzah.

What does it mean when the Scriptures tell us the kingdom of God is near- Are we still waiting for it- Or, is it something more profound that can impact our lives right here, right now-

-Does God want us to be perfect-- We'll find the answer in the story of Nadab and Abihu from Lev 10-1-3. It may surprise you.

As believers, we are called upon to know who God is-to know His character and nature. He is our God and His word is His self-revelation and our guidelines for living holy lives. He is to be our heart's desire and our highest priority. But, if we're honest with ourselves, we will admit that there are times when other things or other people have greater influence on us than God does. When that happens, they become our god. We'll see this in the story of Joash from 2 Chronicles 24. The chart mentioned early in the sermon is attached as a PDF.

Here's the story of a woman God uses to bring about a stunning victory for the Hebrews. It's a gory story. But, what does it have to do with the gospel- Do we really see the gospel throughout the OT. Find the answers in -Jael- from Judges 4-7-24.

We all know that God knows the intentions of our hearts. But can we assume that good intentions are always godly intentions- We'll see if that holds true in our sermon today which tells the story of Jeroboam, the first king of the ten northern tribes which Scripture calls -Israel.-

We're all familiar with the quote Jesus makes in the Garden in Luke 22, He was asking the Father to let the torture of the crucifixion pass Him by. He said, -Not my will but yours be done.- We're familiar with it-but do we understand the scope of its importance and how it can change our lives- Jesus meant it when He said he was willing to abandon His will, for God's Let's see how a better understanding of God's will might have changed the life of one of Judah's first kings, Rehoboam.

Today's sermon is -Gehazi- from 2 Kings 5. It's an integral part of last week's sermon, which was -Naaman- and it picks up where that one left off. Gehazi's story deals with something that has become culturally precious in recent times, privacy. Ohhh-we value our privacy, don't we- Would it surprise you to hear that privacy is a myth- There is no such thing as true privacy. Can that be true- Gehazi's story gives us the answer.

Here's a question that is sure to cause debate. -Does God still heal-- I believe He does. Perhaps you'll agree with me as we look at the story of Naaman, a Syrian commander during the time of Elisha.

Here's a question, -Do you ever lie-- A woman named Rahab who lived in Jericho a long time ago lied-more than once. What happened to her- What can we learn from it. We'll explore the answers in todays sermon from Josh 2, -Rahab-

Our sermon for the day will be from Hebrews 4-12, -Living, Active, Sharper - Piercing.- It strives to answer the question that should concern us all, -Why is the word of God so important-- I pray it blesses you.--We'll be graduation our Apollos XVI equipping class and you'll get to hear testimony from one of our graduates. We've offered this class since 2004 and we're honored to include theses graduates among our alumni.

The story of Noah and his ark is a familiar one. Many of us first heard it in childhood. We all have a picture of Noah, his ark, the happy family and cute little animals looking over the side of the boat. Is there more- Are there profound lessons to be learned from Noah, other than that he was basically a good guy- How good was he- We find out in today's sermon simply titled, -Noah-

We all know we're supposed to learn from our mistakes. But are there lessons to be learned in our successes- We find the answer in the story of a woman named Abigail who was the wife of the wealthy but foolish Nabal. Our lesson occurs in 1 Sam 25 when David shows up, flush from his own success of trusting God to deal with Saul.
