Willy Agada jumps out as one of the best steals of a salary on the roster. He helped turn the season around and scored goals at a rate on par with the Golden Boot, all for just a quarter of a million bucks. Youngster Kayden Pierre was a surprise bright spot this year. Sporting KC is still hot. Unfortunately, they're still eliminated from the post season. But playing spoiler for the Seattle Sounders instantly becomes a highlight of the season. It was another rough and ugly match against the Houston Dynamo as Sporting KC settled for a scoreless draw on the road. In spite of countless opportunities, and two shots off the crossbar, SKC never found the final touch. Six yellow cards were shown, but the antics from the Dynamo called for many more. After witnessing a phenomenal, acrobatic, double save right in front of them, the Cauldron began chanting "That's Our Keeper!" 21-year-old John Pulskamp has been in goal far more than he expected this season, so he says hearing that level of support from the fans "is hard to describe exactly." Tim Melia has been out with a hamstring injury, and his contract is up this year. Pulskamp, however, signed an extension earlier this year through 2025 with an option for 2026. Therefore, Peter Vermes and Co. are getting a nice long look at the potential heir to the throne. The Cauldron let their feelings be known as Pulskamp shut down any hope the Portland Timbers had of making a comeback. The task at hand for the young is not lost on him. Friday night is a big night for the KC Current as Angel City FC come knocking. The house should be packed with a record-breaking crowd as they look to continue a ten-game unbeaten run. The rosters all set for the Media Game at halftime Friday night, and Cody is in very real danger from the studs of the Blue Testament staff. Sporting KC lost a heartbreaker at Austin FC after blowing a fantastic first half performance, and 3-1 lead. How can a team look so strong in one half, and so terrible in the next? William Agada is off to a hot start with three goals four appearances. This includes one of the best goal celebrations in club history. However, the goals he’s scored aren’t exactly bangers. Quite the opposite. And he’s had chances to score even more. The faking of injuries is objectively one of the ugliest parts of our sport and should always be called out.
