Pastor Paul resumes on John's teachings on discerning truth, error, and the role of the local church. We are to distinguish between true and false teachings, the battle between light and darkness, and the importance of aligning with Scriptural truths. As called out people, we as a local body should be committed to sharing the truth of Jesus Christ and being faithful to His Word and realize that greater is He that is in us, than he that is in the world. God's forgiveness is greater than our failures. When we struggle with imperfect obedience, we know that we can be forgiven and we know that our prayers can be answered. The genuinely saved person can live securely in their salvation.

As believers, God has made us free, given us liberty in Christ, so that we could use our freedom to serve each other in love. That's what the body of Christ is all about, and if there's no evidence of that in our lives, if there's no action behind our love, we need to get moving. Because love does. The world will know that we are of God through our love for one another. Scripture: 1 John 3:11-18

As believers, we are to remember who we are in Christ. We are children of the King, God is our Father, and there are indicators - God loves us, He died for us, and He gave us a new nature. These truths changes everything for us. We are to pursue a life of holiness and put on our new self. Scripture: 1 John 3:1-10

In this latest installment of the 1 John series, we are reminded that God wants us to understand the truth and we have to be determined to pursue it. We have to be determined to live a life that is formed by being led by the Spirit and conformed by the Word of God.
