The building includes a “story-driven, immersive experience,” according to the press release. The exhibit, called Air, is a walk-through art experience. In addition to the exhibit, the building will include thrill experiences, food and beverages and an outdoor terrace with “the highest urban alpine meadow in the Western Hemisphere,” the press release stated. Visit www.Matot.com to learn more YACHT DESIGN INCLUDES “SKY ELEVATOR” U.S.-based Norwegian designer Kurt Strand has revealed a concept for a 161-m Viking-inspired sailing superyacht named Norway with a “sky elevator” hidden inside the middle mast and capable of whisking guests 340 ft above the water, BOAT International and others report. Norway features 96-m-high carbon fiber Falcon rig masts with 6000 m2 of sails covered in flexible solar cell foil. The design takes inspiration from the “powerful square sails” of Viking ships. The push button sail handling reduces crew on board and allows all sails to be deployed and furled away in just six minutes. The yacht is also equipped with hydrogen power cells for use in light wind conditions with no sun. Visit www.Matot.com to learn more HITACHI ELEVATOR PHILIPPINES AWARDED FIRST RAILWAY PROJECT Hitachi Elevator Philippines Corp., a subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd., has received an order for 67 units of elevators and escalators in the Philippines for the development of the North-South Commuter Railway (NSCR) Phase 1 project as its first railway system project, MarketScreener reports. The NSCR is part of an overall initiative by the Philippine government to expand the existing mass transportation in metropolitan Manila and adjacent areas to lessen traffic congestion in and around the capital city. The project includes two packages by two different contractors. Contract Package 1 will be constructed by Taisei-DMCI Joint Venture and calls for Hitachi Elevator Philippines to provide 13 elevators and 26 escalators for four stations. Visit www.Matot.com to learn more CTBUH STUDY FINDS 84% OF TALL BUILDINGS HAVE BEEN CONSTRUCTED AFTER 9/11 CTBUH released its latest study, The Global Impact of 9/11 on Tall Buildings, as part of the “Tall Buildings in Numbers” series, the company announced in a press release. The study reveals that 84% of buildings 200 m or taller were built after 2001. The study also finds that 86 of the 100 current tallest buildings in the U.S. have been built since 2001, and if the World Trade Center Twin Towers were still standing, they would be the world's 31st and 32nd tallest buildings. Since 2001, the average height of the 100 tallest buildings in the world has increased 141%, with an average height of 399 m. Tall-building growth has also expanded globally, with 49% of tall buildings being in the U.S. in 2001, compared to only 15% of those buildings in the U.S. today. Tall buildings are growing signific

In exchange for rezoning to allow greater density and height, the developer agreed to provide two new Americans With Disabilities Act-compliant elevators at the 57th Street subway station located 250 ft to the east. As long as the rezoning is greenlit, the structure will total 443,098 ft2, housing 119 residential units, a 158-room hotel and a 10,212-ft2 restaurant.
