She has a degree in Business Administration and was the Editor/Chief and owner of a local Newsletter called Richmond Addiction News (RAN) that served approx. 2,400 readers from 2004 to 2007. She is CEO of a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping survivors of abuse. She produced and hosted her own TV cable talk show from February 2009 to April 2009, called “Surviving the Lion’s Den”, which was a show dedicated to abuse survivors. Miss Carter is currently the host and producer of a web-based radio talk show called "Survivors of the Lion’s Den". She is also a survivor of abuse. She has survived sexual, emotional, physical and verbal abuse, mostly by the hands of her own family members. In her attempts to work through issues she started journaling.
