Episodios

  • Buddy Nielsen from Senses Fail (Friendversation)

    20/04/2016 Duración: 01h06min

Episode 203 - In our monthly series of “friendversations” I bring on my good friend, Buddy Nielsen from Senses Fail on the show to discuss how to exist in the internet. We speak in depth about the hatred that exists on the internet, expressing your opinion online and the unknowns of how this technology will affect us moving forward. We also discuss his new band (!!!), recently finding out he is going to be a father and MUCH more. I always love hanging out with Buddy and this conversation is no exception. • Sammy Siegler from World Be Free, Youth of Today, Gorilla Biscuits, Glassjaw etc…

    13/04/2016 Duración: 01h17min

Episode 202 - Hands down one of my favorite drummers, Sammy Siegler, makes his appearance on the show this week. He’s played in Gorilla Biscuits, Youth of Today, Side By Side, Glassjaw, Rival Schools, Limp Bizkit (!) and currently plays in World Be Free. Needless to say, the guy is prolific and we dive DEEP into his life in and around music from his days as a 12 year old in NYC, how he collaborates with such a wide range of musicians and keeping your eyes open for opportunities. Sammy was very gracious with his time and I hope you enjoy the conversation. - - Use our Amazon Affiliate Code to support the show! • Kliph Nesteroff, author

    06/04/2016 Duración: 01h05min

A spectacular episode this week with author, Kliph Nesterhoff. He wrote a book called The Comedians that examines the forgotten about history from the early 1900’s all the way up to modern day stand up comedy. Kliph also has a history with punk rock and hardcore and modeled his own stand up comedy after it. I am always excited to shine a light on the intersection of two things that might not be considered “connected” but this episode shows it in spades.- - Use our Amazon Affiliate Code to support the show! • Cameron Miller from Seizures

    17/02/2016 Duración: 01h08min

This week is a doozy. Cameron Miller sings for a band called Seizures who will pummel your ear drums with their Botch-esque metal influenced hardcore but more importantly, he has a crazy life story. Cameron and I discuss depression, a harrowing life experience and practicing happiness. It's a very deep and compelling conversation that I urge you to check out. • Jon Bunch from Sensefield, Reason To Believe, Further Seems Forever & War Generation (REBROADCAST)

    08/02/2016 Duración: 01h17min

This sucks. I didn't think I would have to consider rebroadcasting any of these interviews that I have done over the course of the past few years but Jon Bunch passed away recently and I immediately thought this was appropriate to revisit the incredible conversation I had at Jon's house back in 2013. My thoughts go out to his family and everyone affected by this tremendous loss. He was one of my favorite vocalists of all time and we should all collectively thank his memory for his contributions to our little scene. • Josh Coll from Foxing

    03/02/2016 Duración: 01h17min

Foxing are a great band. Their new record Dealer made my top 10 list for 2015 so it only made sense to me that I get to know them a bit better. Josh Coll plays bass in the band (and contributes a portion of the lyrics as well) and we spoke one afternoon over Skype. It was a delightful discussion about coping with attention being paid to your band, the military and the Midwest. Please do enjoy. - - This weeks show is brought to you by Adam & Eve want to make your Valentines Day spectacular. • Leroy Payne, my grandfather

    27/01/2016 Duración: 01h15min

This is a definite left turn for the show, but something I needed to do. My grandfather, Roy Payne passed away last week. I've been entrenched in emotion, cleaning out his house and processing the loss. I had an interview I conducted with him back in 2011 about his 95 years on this planet and regardless of the lack of personal connection you may have with him, his story is universal. People of "the greatest generation" have stories that will blow your minds and I didn't want this to be something only my family shared. Please enjoy and as a "bonus" you can hear my son and I be goofy at the end of the podcast. Thanks for your well wishes and next week, we will be back to our regularly scheduled program. • Stephanie Marlow, indie PR

    20/01/2016 Duración: 01h01min

I sat down with my long time friend Stephanie Marlow who has a long history with independent music and runs a very successful PR company of her own that has worked with everyone from Deafheaven to Pallbearer to Have Heart. She has a great story and I was excited to turn the tables on her and interview her which is a position she's not normally put in. • Nick "Biggie" Grimaldi from Good Fight Management

A long time friend is my guest this week in the form of Nick Grimaldi, or what many know him as "Biggie". He is a manager of most of your favorite bands like Between the Buried and Me, Every Time I Die, Circa Survive, Bless The Fall, Terror and MANY others. Happy new year! This week I hop on the phone with Gavin Van Vlack who is the guitarist for the much respected and revered bands Burn and Absolution. It was a very inspirational chat that hits on New York City hardcore, being a movement enthusiast and how to say engaged and inspired. • Friendversation w/ Joey Cahill

    23/12/2015 Duración: 47min

Episode 186.5 - As a "bonus" episode during the holidays, I decided to try something a bit different with this. I gave my best friend Joey Cahill a call and we went off on a few different subjects like the death of Rdio, trademarking everything and the issues that are plaguing the vinyl pressing plants and record labels attempting to manufacture vinyl. We also bring up two buried treasures of bands that we feel need more attention. Pull up a chair and join us! This week we chop it up with the drummer, Paul Koehelr who is a very old friend and the main business focus behind the band. We discuss their longevity, the life of a drummer and how to find inspiration when you've been at it for so long. A very free flowing conversation that lead to some real interesting places.
