This week Laura Turner chats with former Victoria Police Detective Sergeant Peter Bellion. In his decades of service within the ranks of Victoria Police Peter was honoured with numerous awards including an Australian Police Medal and the Victoria Police Star. As a crash scene investigator and reconstruction expert with the Major Collision Investigation Group, his work helped to provide answers for grieving families and communities touched by road trauma. But like so many of his fellow first responders, the legacy of his service left deep psychological scars in the form of post-traumatic stress disorder.
