    Rugby league Immortal Wally 'The King' Lewis says Broncos player James Segeyaro's suspension could not have come at a worse time for the NRL. The Broncos hooker has been provisionally suspended by the NRL under the league’s anti-doping policy following a positive test for the banned drug Ligandrol. Lewis told Macquarie Sports Radio, "We saw him inspire the Broncos on a number of occasions this year when he took to the field, he's always been a consistent performer when he gets the opportunity. "It certainly is a major disappointment for him and Rugby League in general. "It will be good when the full story comes out," Lewis said. Segeyaro was tested by ASADA on September 3, with his A-sample returning positive for the performance-enhancing anabolic agent.     Australia has a new world champion. Kelsey-Lee Barber won gold in javelin at the World Athletics Championships in Doha. A dramatic final throw of 66.56m moved the Canberra girl to the top of the podium, with Chinese athletes taking both the Silver and Bronze spots on the podium. Kelsey's proud mum Bev told Macquarie Sports Radio, "To throw a Gold, we just couldn't believe it, it was absolutely incredible especially with three girls still coming after her, I was sitting on the edge of my couch." Bev said Kelsey is now focused on Tokyo, "Even if she makes the final eight at the Olympics I think would be a huge achievement or to come away with medal of any kind."     The Gold Coast Suns have been thrown a lifeline from the AFL Commission. The club has been approved an assistance package after the club requested special assistance in a meeting in August. AFL legend Leigh Matthews expresses that the news is "demoralising" for the club as well as the sport.
