NoFriender finally recorded a new show but he was too lazy to write a description for it so I had to do it for him. Clash of the Titans was a 1991 heavy metal concert tour starring Megadeth and Slayer where they payed homage to the 1981 fantasy film Clash of the Titans where men in skirts and sandals fought stop-motion monsters whilst Rust in Peace and Seasons in the Abyss played in the background. Metallica could not be there because they cut their but Anthrax and Alice in Chains did make cameos. It was one of the most successful heavy metal tours ever thanks, in no part, to Perseus. I may have got some of the details wrong.

Our next installment in our 100 darkest moments in pop culture history involves the story of NFL player Aaron Hernandez. Hernandez was an elite level football player whose off the field exploits landed him in prison and later dead. Despite being one of the best players on his National Championship winning team in college, the coach didn't want him back for his senior season so he entered the NFL draft where many teams wouldn't touch him. The Patriots finally did but a few murders later they regretted that decision.

Free speech. Censorship. Right thinking. Moral Policing. All of these terms are hot button topics to various political and social groups. The more that things change, the more they stay the same, because in 1954 a holier than thou psychiatrist took on the comic book industry with his infamous book Seduction of the Innocent. No matter what segment of pop culture they are after, be it video games, TV shows, or books, the morality police are dangerous to free thinking but it's a double-edged sword.

He was an action movie star making an impact, a philosopher, an author, and at the young age of 32 mysteriously died just as his biggest movie was released.

I firmly believe this is one of the most important DragonKing Dark podcasts I've ever done and, after listening, I hope you agree. While many non-sports fans may not know who Len Bias was, his death greatly effected American culture and society in ways still felt today.

The rock music world was shaken in February 1980 when the distinctive lead singer of the rising rock group AC/DC was found dead in a car. The cause of death was apparently alcohol related, though specifically how has been debated for 40 years now. It seemed impossible that a rising rock group with such a distinctive sound could possibly carry on after the death of it's frontman, yet, the next album by AC/DC became one of the top 5 selling albums of all time. This is the story of the death of Bon Scott.

The death of Jamaican music legend Bob Marley is our next entry into our 100 darkest moments in pop culture history. Bob Marley was more than just a singer who popularized reggae music, he was a culture icon and heavily influence the music world and beyond. At 36 years old he died of an aggressive, but largely treatable skin cancer. However, citing his religious beliefs, he rejected treatment. This is the story of a music icon who, still to this day, is an iconic cultural figure in Jamaica.
