After King David receives word that his son, Absolom, has stolen the hearts of the people and is now aiming to overthrow David as King, David chooses to flee the city. On his way out of the city he runs into several different people, each with different agendas. Even in the midst of all the chaos, David still seeks to be a good king, and deal with people wisely.
