There is an axiom that goes, "Desperate times call for desperate measures". Many of us may consider our present situation, desperate. But in light of these desperate times what are the desperate measures you are taking to bring solutions or at the very least peace in the midst of the storm? In our text we find Jesus encountering two very desperate situations. And in both of these scenarios we see that Jesus is the desperate measure for desperate times. Our text breaks down into two headings: I. A Roman soldier's sick servant (vv. 1-10) II. A widow's dead son (vv. 11-17)
