At this point in our text, we are thrust into the life of Jesus. He has been baptized by John the baptist, and declared to be God's beloved son in whom He is well pleased. Now, He is led into the desert to be tested and tried. As we study our text we see that even though Jesus' temptations weren't necessarily the same things that would tempt us, however, his approach to overcoming them is still the same way that we are to overcome temptation. Jesus proves to us that we can have victory, because He has given it to us.
