A great turn out at the High Street Party on Thursday, despite the weather. Looking ahead to Friday, Pirate Day organiser Nikki Parker tells us what’s in store when Jack Sparrow and his shipmates arrive in Hastings at lunchtime.

Hundreds of people each donated a pound to have a go at cycling a butcher’s bike up the Old Town’s steepest hill, WITHOUT the benefit of gears OR lifting their bottoms off the seat! We also spoke to Pram Race Organiser Nikki Parker ahead of Wednesday’s event, which has attracted some celebrity interest this year!

HOT POD’s Jo Sykes enjoyed a lovely afternoon basking in the sun in a High Street garden, while enjoying a cream tea and chatting to host, Jo Fairley about her experiences as a Londoner-turned-Old-Towner. Day two of Hastings Old Town Carnival Week featured the Town Criers Competition in Swan Terrace. Congratulations to winners Ray and Tash! Also features “Shameless Plug” and an interview with Richard Stevens on the OTCW’s past, present and future.

The HOT POD team headed down to Winkle Island for the official crowning of Hastings Old Town Carnival Queen, Lara Duke. Includes “SHAMELESS PLUG” feature plus a look-ahead to Sunday’s beach concert.
