Daniel 11 and 12 presents about the last 2,000 years of history in a nutshell, if you will. There are many prophesies given that have already taken place and been fulfilled by Christ, and some are being fulfilled today as we go about our lives. Put on your thinking cap and your shield of faith as we look into this deep text together.

Many of our older songs like this one written in 1895 by Daniel B Towner are based on Scripture and perhaps a sermon that was heard. We can get quite a lesson from some of these Hymns. This is another of my favorites which I try to break down into 8 points plus the chorus speaking of the author's spiritual trip to Calvary. (And mine as well.)

In the days of Jeremiah there was a man, Michaiah the son of Gemariah, who heard a whole sermon that had been read from Jeremiah and was able to repeat those words to the princes of Judah. And there were others that did the same thing telling all of Jeremiah's words to the king of Judah, Jehoiakim. What great minds these men had being able to remember a whole sermon after hearing it once! We are told these men were backward and not as sharp as us, today, But, I beg to differ.

Man has his idea of what a city of the future should look like, but what about a City who's Builder and Maker is God? What will that City be like? Songs: God is My Refuge, The Meeting in the Air and Jesus and Me. We look into the book of Isaiah. II Peter and Revelations for The City of the Future.

I Peter 1:1 through 25 Peter lays out the Salvation plan and goes into the Old Testament prophets who foretold the suffering and the Glory of Christ.

I featured The Cut Ups last week and had to cut a song short to fit it in. I thought I would let the Cut Ups have almost the whole program this week. They were doing a fine work entertaining the folks at Wilson Pines. (I think it was 2010) Much has changed since then, but God is the Same. He never Changes and the value of Knowing Him never goes down.

I have decided to put the Amen Corner back on WLLY Radio in Wilson NC. Here is hoping for a prosperous New Year 2024. I was lead to I Thessalonians 4 and 5 in hopes that the Lord may well come this year. The program airs each Saturday at 10:30 AM to 11 AM beginning on Jan 6th, 2024 

Three favorites, again from my youth. "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing" is an English Christmas carol that first appeared in 1739 in the collection Hymns and Sacred Poems. The carol, based on Luke 2:14, tells of an angelic chorus singing praises to God."Away in a Manger" It was long claimed to be the work of German religious reformer Martin Luther, some Germans will not sing it, saying it used to be a beer drinking song. (at least the melody) If you imagine an Umm Pa Pa beat to it, you see their point. But this is a favorite in the English speaking world. "Run Run to the Stable" at least the version I know is an old French Carol. If you have heard it before, please leave a comment.

A clip of me singing "Create in Me A Clean Heart" was posted on Face Book and I wanted to put more of that song into recording. Plus, I heard a copy of "The Meeting in the Air" piano by Bill Quidley and harmonica by Bruce Hall, both of whom have since passed away, and their talents will be missed. But I hope to meet them again some day.

One of my favorites, Page 110 in the Church Hymnal. About the Rapture, We've read about it, we've heard about it, we've sung about it and one day Soon, We'll Be About It.

I basically let the song fly recording several tracks on top of each other. If there are mistakes, it shows I'm still human, but I just want to Thank God for the Blessed Hope He provides to ALL.
