These Stations of the Cross include Bible passages, plus meditations from Julian of Norwich, selected by the Catholic Poor Clare Sisters at Ty Mam Duw, Wales. Narrated by James Burke-Dunsmore (from Wintershall's Life of Christ and the Gregynog Passion Play). Music from 'Triduum - Contemporary Sacred Music' by David Bevan and Neil Wright. Sung by the Holy Redeemer Choir. The photos are from the Oberammergau Passion Play (Passionsspiele) 1910 and the Gregynog Passion Play 2000. The Way of the Cross originated in pilgrimages to Jerusalem. The tradition of having the Stations of the Cross in churches began with St. Francis of Assisi and extended throughout the Roman Catholic Church in the medieval period. They may be prayed at any time, but are most commonly meditated on Fridays, particularly during Lent. On Good Friday the Pope leads the Stations of the Cross at the Colisseum in Rome.
