Hour 1 Boomer is out today so it’s Gio and Jerry. We finally got the Rangers/Capitals schedule and game 6 is scheduled for Friday night, May 3rd. That happens to be Boomer & Gio Live in Jersey City. How’s that going to go for Boomer? That game is probably going to start at 8pm, which is when our live show starts. C-Lo is here for his first update and starts with the Sixers back up center saying he wanted to face the Knicks. Starting tomorrow, there are 4 games in a row at MSG with the Knicks and Rangers. Charles Barkley was on with Chris Russo and he kept calling him, ‘Mike’. In the final segment of the hour, Mike Fleigelman took the day off to listen to the new Taylor Swift album. Gio was listening to C-Mac on his way in and Rami Lavi was talking a lot. He was producing but was on the mic a lot. C-Lo has more prank calls to Chris Carlin when he worked overnights at WFAN. In the final segment of the hour, NYC Mayor Eric Adams was on with Evan and Tiki yesterday. He came on to talk about the new NYCFC stadium that was approved for Queens. They asked two non sports questions, one about vaccines and one about feeling safe in the city. There were no questions about bail reform and career criminals killing cops.

Andy Martino of SNY is upset there’s a guy going to games as the Mets Rally Pimp. He didn’t call himself this, people started calling him this. Gio said it’s not like he’s promoting human trafficking. Gio wonders who would be offended by the Rally Pimp. Who is Andy Martino protecting? C-Lo returns for an update but first we started playing P.I.M.P by 50 cent, some Jay Z and some reggae. Tracey Morgan was on with Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart on the Roommates podcast. In the final segment of the hour, Jerry has a story about a woman bringing her dead uncle to the bank to co-sign a loan.

Boomer Esiason checks in on the phone. He’s up in Canada today for a hockey tournament he’s playing in. We talked to him about game 6 of Rangers/Capitals being the same night as B&G Live on May 3rd. We also talked to Boomer about Mayor Adams' interview with Evan and Tiki. Boomer went all in on the problems in NYC. C-Lo returns for his final update of the day and starts with the Mets Rally Pimp responding to Andy Martino. He told KFC at Barstool that he’s ‘not a pimp’. Gio said it would have been easier to play the Heat without Jimmy Butler. Boomer said you can’t always try to take the easy way out. Boomer talked about Mitchell Robinson being healthy and how that will be key. Boomer is feeling like a kid again with the Knicks and Rangers being in the playoffs. Oh, and the Mets just swept the Pirates. There will definitely be more Knicks fans in Philly than Sixers fans at MSG. Mitchell Robinson is going off social media for the playoffs and isn’t texting anyone back. Jerry is here for his first update but first, Boomer is pumped and playing MC Hammer music. Boomer ran into Andrew Marchand of The Athletic yesterday and they talked about which athlete has had the most success as a broadcaster after their playing career. Boomer thought of Cris Collinsworth, Phil Simms, and Pat Summerall. Marchand thought of Charles Barkley and he had Boomer on his list. Other names that came up were Frank Gifford, Troy Aikman, Terry Bradshaw. Gio said Tim McCarver. Jerry returns for an update and starts with the sounds of the Sixers beating the Heat as they will face the Knicks in round one. Kendrick Perkins said Barkley and Shaq don’t watch games, which is why they don’t like the Knicks. The Mets completed their sweep of the Pirates and the Yankees snapped a 3-game losing streak by beating the Blue Jays. Jason Kelce lost his Super Bowl ring in a pool of Skyline Chili. In the final segment of the hour, Boomer wonders what the itinerary will be for John Sterling day on Saturday. Boomer also wants the new brand manager to get a makeover. We need to, ‘sex him up’ according to Boomer.

Boomer is having problems checking in on the Air Canada app. He is going there for a WASPs hockey tournament. Gio thinks it’s an old guy problem. The interface between the Air Canada app and the United app ‘sucks’ according to Boomer. Jerry returns for an update, but first Gio figures out Boomer’s app issue with Air Canada. Jerry starts with audio from the Sixers win over the Heat. The Yankees beat the Blue Jays and we heard Juan Soto’s HR. The Mets completed the sweep of the Pirates. Bill Belichick said he’s never had a cup of coffee in his life. In the final segment of the hour, Boomer went to the Sean McManus retirement party. Roger Goodell and Robert Kraft were also there.

Boomer wonders if Big Zoo is still raising money for the 5-Borough Bike Tour as he’s representing Team Boomer. A caller said he’s feeling a lot of negativity from Rangers fans. A caller is bringing a third date to the Rangers playoff game and is looking for advice. One caller said, ‘don’t take chicks to games’. Al Leiter’s son, Jack, makes his first MLB start today with the Texas Rangers. The Coyotes are moving to Salt Lake City, so last night the broadcasters said goodbye.
