It's August and the bulk of the big-budgeted summer blockbusters are behind us. This year left us with several new actions flicks to enjoy, so Andrew and I are taking this opportunity to discuss the genre as a whole. It goes without saying that the genre is huge and there are thousands of films (and sub-genres) to explore. We do a basic survey of what makes a good action film, some of our favorite villains, and our top picks. Join us and don't forget to let us know about your favorites in the comments!

On today's episode, Andrew and I tweak a previous topic. We've already discussed movie scores, so this time we decide to do "the same, but different" and discuss movie soundtracks. For the uninitiated, the scores are typically orchestral in nature while soundtracks use existing tracks from pop-culture or other similar sources. The definition is subtly different but the effect is profound. We explore some great examples and our favorites. Let us know some of your favorites in the comments and thanks for listening!
