Listening Well To The King

The apostle warns Timothy that ministry is hard, but worth it. It is hard because we are all depraved... even those in the church.  We all need to walk with God or our selfish wins and the fruit is evident. Paul is reminding Timothy to keep a close watch on his life and teaching because both his salvation and the flocks salvation depends upon it.  Running from evil and pursuing righteous living pleases God. Paul want Timothy to keep reminding the flock about the Gospel and passing it on. He wants Timothy to understand that ministry is hard and involves suffering. But most of all, Paul wants Timothy to work on understanding and explaining God's Word. Fishing was not the job that Peter was to return to after the resurrection.  Fishing was his old life not the life which God had called Peter. God's plan of salvation was well orchestrated.  Elizabeth, Zechariah, Mary, Joseph, Simeon, Anna, the shepherds, and the wise men all had a part in the Christmas Story. Thank you God for sending your son as a gift to mankind.  Pastor Rick spoke this message at CrossPoint church.

Ordinary shepherds were watching their sheep on an ordinary night when everything changed. Angels lit up the skies and shared the GOOD NEWS that Christ the King has been born in Bethlehem and laid in a manger.  The Messiah had arrived which meant the world could now be rescued. Hebrews 11 is filled with examples of God's kids trusting Him.  God loves it when His kids trust Him.  God's promises are sure even though we may not experience them until the Lord returns as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.  Meanwhile, God encourages us to fix our eyes on Jesus and run the race with endurance throwing off any hindrance that impedes the race.
