The only thing to kick the Monday morning blues right in the face is here, the latest episode of the Mouth Off podcast hits the internet. Up for discussion this week is the Harald Zwart's remake of the classic (?) 80s film The Karate Kid, this time starring Jaden Smith and the Jackie Chan. Bleeding Cool's Movie Man Brendon Connelly, Craig Skinner and I take off the rose tints and stare deeply into the abyss of the latest remake to hit our screens. Craig returns triumphant from Montreal to bring us all the news from Fantasia Fest and we also look ahead to FrightFest, so plenty to pleasure you aurally this week, as well as our resident Ripped from the Crypt section which this week takes as a theme films which mix animation with live action.

It's been a while but the Mouth Off team were too tempted by the furious momentum of Christopher Nolan's Inception to sit this one out and the podcast returns to take apart the latest film from the man some people claim to be 'The New Kubrick".

You'd be hard pressed to find three more diverse films than the ones we're discussing - a liberal guilt trip with writer/director Nicole Holofcener's latest Please Give, Craig Skinner talks up Harmony Korine's Trash Humpers and Brendon Connelly tells us all about the Spanish film Hierro. We champion the trailer for Mark Romanek's latest, his adaptation of Never Let Me Go which blew our collective minds, we journey through Oz with some unexpected companions and we rip into Warner Bros's decision to do a tentpole Don Quixote film.

Bit of a special one today as we have an exclusive interview with the director of the forthcoming film Death and Cremation, Justin Steele, whose generosity and candour was a breath of fresh air and the stories he tells of getting an original horror film made, as well as working with Brad Dourif and Jeremy Sumpter are really worth a listen.

Arriving just in time to complement your weekend I chat to Brendon Connelly and Craig Skinner about the Rian Johnson film The Brothers Bloom (out in UK cinemas today), as well as looking over the career of the late Dennis Hopper and kicking the recently orphaned Hobbit film around.
