This is a very brief episode came from introspective moment I was having thinking about how experiences in ministry will sometimes cause us to change our “why”.

There’s so much foolishness I’ve been seeing and hearing within the context of church and ministry. I was sitting here and began recording to get some of this frustration off my chest. Put on your AirPods and listen.

Motivation

Pastor Rod Parsley of World Harvest Church in Columbus,Ohio has struck a nerve with many African Americans with his tone deaf message on race. He has dubbed himself as the “silent no more preacher” Parsley has grown his following among black folks by appropriating our culture and hiring our singers and musicians. In today’s climate evangelical pastors like Parsley are being called on the carpet for their behavior and messages. Sir we need an explanation. Your message on race is very short sighted and tone deaf. It also lacks the correct historical context.

George Floyd was murdered by 4 Minneapolis Police Officers over an alleged bad check. The officers lynched a black man who posed no threat. How much longer must we endure this?

Lately there’s been talk about Lil Boosie paying for an adult female to perform sex acts on his underage son. In this episode I attempt to unpack some issues and bring to light that this is not a phenomenon. This has been going on for decades and even centuries. It’s time to discuss things in proper context. “All Lives Matter” sure that sounds great and ideal. However, we all know that is not true. If this in fact was a true statement black people and people of color wouldn’t have to fight for freedom and equality in America.

Anti-Shelter In Place Protesters (majority white men) are expressing their faux outrage in the midst of a pandemic. They feel their liberty and freedom is being infringed upon.  While African Americans and other POC (people of color) shake their heads in disbelief watching white men and women compare shelter in place orders to slavery. There’s a lot of stress and anxiety surrounding Covid. In this episode I’ll go over a few techniques to help ease the stress and anxiety we all are feeling during this time.

Often times the reason we are afraid to go after our goals is because we keep a Plan B in our back pocket. I'm not talking about birth control but the fearful mindset that things will not work out. In this episode, my guest and I will discuss how there are times when our Plan B may be the thing that keeps up stuck and frustrated.

There’s a lot uncertainty, fear, and panic in the air. However, this is also a wonderful opportunity to create, innovate, write, record and become closer with your family. As we shelter in place remember to use this time wisely.

Covid-19 or Corona Virus

The burden of being black in America is exhausting. We constantly have to overcome the obstacles of systemic racism. Nevertheless we rise!
