A special edition of the Hawkeye Report Podcast. On this show we are joined by Iowa women's basketball player Hannah Stuelke. Last year she was the 6th player of the year in the Big Ten Conference. This season she will move into the starting lineup. We discuss the transition to being a starter, her expectations for the upcoming season. We also talk about the success last year from Iowa women's basketball, her development as a player, and fan support that they receive from Hawkeye fans. 

This week on the Chuck Long Podcast, the former Iowa quarterback and Tom Kakert from HawkeyeReport.com look back at the loss to Penn State. Long discusses what went wrong from an offensive perspective and we look at some potential options for the Iowa offense moving forward.  How do the Hawkeyes get the ball in the hands of their wide receivers more often? What plays should be looked at as far as getting the ball to wide receivers? We look at the importance of leadership this week from the Hawkeye players to keep the team together. Iowa football has returned! The 2023 season begins on Saturday afternoon at Kinnick Stadium against Utah State. We preview the game and take a long look at the Aggies squad this season. First, we discuss the Cade McNamara injury situation and if he’s going to play on Saturday and we take a look at a few Iowa players to watch. Then we talk some recruiting news before we pick the Big Ten games this weekend.

We also look at the state of recruiting in college football and just how messy the month of December has become. Plus, why Iowa continues to do well with recruits in the state of Iowa.

Iowa football media day and the annual Kids Day open practice are in the books, so we have plenty to discuss on the podcast. We are thrilled to have Cory Brada from The Hawkeye of the Storm join us to discuss what we learned, particularly on Saturday afternoon at Iowa football practice. We start by looking at the Iowa offense and the scare that Cade McNamara gave everyone when he limped off the field. We also dive into the offensive line and if there are concerns. Then we flip over to the defense and break those positions down and try to figure out exactly what we learned at practice.

Something a little different this week on the podcast. We are joined by 2024 Iowa quarterback commit James Resar to discuss his recent official visit. We talk about his time in Iowa City and what he learned that weekend. We also discuss his interaction with the other quarterbacks, bonding with the incoming offensive linemen, and if he did any recruiting of the wide receivers and tight ends who were visiting. He talks about his commitment to Iowa, his work with a quarterback coach, and how Iowa might use his speed once he gets to campus.
