The news of the impending sale of the Boston Celtics has Salk questioning a lot of the goings-on behind the scenes and who the players involved are - but also what it could mean for the future of the NBA in Seattle. Salk is joined by Senior MLB Insider at ESPN Jeff Passan to discuss the recent M's stumbles and also how the trade deadline is shaping up. 

Salk uses the word 'nursing' to describe the way the Mariners lead feels at this point, but would M's fans be happy being 8 games over .500 w/ a 3-game lead in the AL West in July if you asked them back at the beginning of the season? Former Mariners catcher Dan Wilson joins Salk to disscuss some of the prospects in the org before Brock jumps in (from Idaho) for Blue 88. 

Salk opens the show with his thoughts and feelings on the somewhat-confusing signings made by the Seattle Kraken yesterday during NHL free agency before setting the table for the Mariners set to take on Baltimore for three games at home and the interesting sale of the Boston Celtics incoming. We revisit the conversation with 

Pro Football Focus put together an exercise where you build the best D-line with current NFL players and there were no Seahawks included. Should we take anything from that? Then, we get sidetracked with a little movie sequel talk before discussing Julio's struggles at the plate and his hitting coach being in town for some tweaking this week. For all of the talk about the deadline, there are very few teams that are actually sellers right now and there are 13 potential buyers - but one team is really key to the whole deadline and Salk shares what he's heard before being joined by M's broadcaster Aaron Goldsmith.

The dreadful Mariners offensive output this weekend causes Salk to ask Brock if this might be the worst hitting team they've seen during their time in Seattle. Salk ended up meeting and chatting with Julio's personal hitting coach and shares the findings before Brock's Blue 88. 

Salk hated that Luis Castillo started the final game of the Twins series because of how it juxtaposes against the stated philosophy of their pitching goals while the Astros are red-hot and close the gap to 3.5 games. The Kraken draft a couple Centers starting with Berkly Catton at the #8 pick in the 2024 NHL Draft. Maura takes us Around the Weekend of sports.
