It is time for another fresh edition of the Downey and Martez podcast. On this week’s show Trey Downey and Len Martez look back at the Buccaneers embarrassing loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers and look ahead to a divisional match-up against the Carolina Panthers. Trey start the podcast by listing all of the issues that the Bucs had against the Steelers. Week 6 in the NFL is already upon us and that means it is time for your weekly dose of the Downey and Martez podcast. Trey and Len begin this week’s show by looking back at the 21-15 victory over the Atlanta Falcons. Trey asks Len if the game ultimately being that close was worrisome. Len explains why the result itself wasn’t necessarily worrisome, but the Buccaneers struggles against the run and Devin White’s postgame comments raised some eyebrows. Trey then moves on to some positives and praises running back Leonard Fournette’s 10-catch performance and just how quickly rookie running back Rachaad White is developing into a more than competent pass blocker. Week Five in the National Football League is here and it is time for another brand new edition of Downey and Martez. Trey Downey and Len Martez begin this week’s show by recapping what happened on Sunday night football against the Kansas City Chiefs. Trey and Len agree that this was the worst performance by the Buccaneers defense in a very long time. The guys dig deeper and talk about the struggles against the run and ponder whether Jason Licht should be giving Ndamukong Suh a call.  After a heated discussion on the last episode about Bucs offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich’s play-calling, Trey asks Len about his level of concern after a performance that netted just three rushing yards against the Chiefs. Len gives you an interesting response to why Leftwich has been calling the games the way he has been. The guys praise yet another stifling performance by the Bucs defense and Len gives praise to two defensive backs that have become ballhawks. The discussion on the podcast turns to the struggles that Tampa Bay once again had on the offensive side of the ball. This leads to a heated debate on offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich’s play calling & if the Bucs are relying on the run game too much.  After giving their thoughts about the Buccaneers offense, Trey & Len jump to the latest chapter in the Mike Evans and Marshon Lattimore feud. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are 1-0 and head to New Orleans this week. And Trey Downey and Len Martez are back with a new episode of Downey and Martez to discuss it all. The guys begin the show by discussing the good, bad, and ugly from the 19-3 win over the Cowboys.  The guys agree that if there was any ugly, it was the fact that Tampa Bay are dealing with more injuries. The gents discuss the injuries to offensive tackle Donovan Smith & three wide receivers, Julio Jones, Mike Evans & Chris Godwin & how the injuries could impact the team moving forward depending on how much time they may miss. From the ugly, Trey & Len discuss the bad which was the offense stalling in Cowboys' territory. The guys save the best for last & that was the good. That part of the conversations begins with the stifling performance of the defense. Trey and Len then agree how impressive Jones looked and how he was used in the offense.. Trey then gives some credit to Len for being right on how many touches running back

The regular season is here and it is time to preview games that matter on a new edition of Downey and Martez. Before getting into the Sunday Night Football game against Dallas, Trey Downey and Len Martez tackle some of the news items of the week. First off Len expresses why all of the smoke around a Rob Gronkowski return isn’t news until he gives some kind of indication that he wants to play. The guys then discuss Buccaneers wide receiver Chris Godwin being a full participant in practice on Wednesday and Trey asks Len for a gut feeling on whether Godwin will suit up against the Cowboys. Trey then tries to get some credit on running back Rachaad White moving up to the 2nd slot on the depth chart, but Len's response is to wait until Sunday night. The conversations then zeroes in on Sunday night. Len tells us why he thinks running back Leonard Fournette could see quite a few touches and Trey looks into why he thinks Dallas getting exotic with blitz packages could be their key to victory. Trey and Len start the show by talking about the shocking move of the Bucs cutting wide receiver Tyler Johnson. Len explains why his issue wasn’t that Tampa Bay cut Johnson, but the reason given why he was cut. Trey brings up that he thinks quarterback Tom Brady’s absence might have worked against Johnson. The guys then discuss Brady’s preseason debut against the Indianapolis Colts and his comments to the media after the game. Len reiterates why he still isn’t worried about "That Dude" being distracted on the field. Finally the guys share their NFL season predictions. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are gearing up for their final preseason game of 2022 and Trey Downey and Len Martez are back with a new edition of Downey and Martez to get you ready for it.  Trey starts the show by giving Len props about being right that Tom Brady and the other Bucs starters will play in the final preseason game. With that news the guys discuss just how much those players should play.  Trey and Len also discuss the season ending injury to offensive lineman Aaron Stinnie. The guys both stress the fact that regardless of whether Stinnie was ultimately going to be the starter, this is a very big loss moving forward.  Trey and Len move onto to one of the most talked about players of training camp, wide receiver Scotty Miller. The first Buccaneers preseason game of the season is in the books and Trey Downey and Len Martez are back on a new episode of Downey & Martez to break it all down for you. The guys began the show by breaking down the most recent roster moves. Len told you why he wasn’t really surprised by the Bucs cutting cornerback Ross Cockrell. Trey then told you why he thinks outside linebacker Carl Nassib might be the perfect signing to make up for the loss of Cam Gill.  The guys then moved on to the performance of quarterback Kyle Trask. Len explained why grading his performance goes much deeper than just looking at the stats that he put up. The show began once again with a conversation about quarterback Tom Brady. The guys discussed the news that  “That Dude” will be away from the team until after the second preseason game against the Tennessee Titans. Trey and Len broke down how the absence impacts the Bucs moving forward.  The discussion stayed on quarterbacks, but this time the guys were talking Kyle Trask. Trey asked Len for his first hand take on how the second year quarterback has looked in practice after all of the negativity that has been on social media. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are a full week into their 2022 training camp. And that means Trey Downey and Len Martez have a fresh edition of Downey and Martez to get you through your weekend.  Trey began the podcast by asking Len about the general vibe of camp and if camp had a noticeable difference under Head Coach Todd Bowles. The conversation then pivoted to Tom Brady and Len had some glowing praise and a new nickname for the now 45-year old quarterback.
