270 - Alan Briggs ” 12 axioms that will change your life; move from reactive to proactive”
25/01/2022 Duración: 19minYou pop out of bed on Monday feeling frantic. You’re ten minutes behind because you hit snooze and the anxiety is pumping through your veins. The week ahead is looming over you. You scroll through your emails, pop into Instagram and scramble to pick out your clothes. You pull the kids out of bed and race around the kitchen helping them pack their lunches. After all the chaos at home you get to the office ten minutes late. You’re behind. Again. Resource to consult We designed the Right Side up Journal to help you make the shift from reactive life and leadership to proactive life and leadership. We created a short tutorial video and long tutorial video to help you best utilize this. Questions to answer What micro decisions can you look ahead and make proactively every day? What larger decisions are approaching that you can make now? What tool/s will help you plan ahead? (Of course, we recommend the Right Side up Journal, and this is exactly why we created it) Level your leadership in 2022 Purchase

268 - Alan Briggs ”A dozen axioms that will change your life Clarity UP, Overwhelm DOWN”
18/01/2022 Duración: 19minWhat do you do when you don’t know what to do? The answer is a little different for all of us, but when we don’t know what to do most forward-thinking leaders just do something. Start something. Work on something. Read something. Get busy doing something. It seems our culture is completing wrapped up in busyness, and I believe much of that stems from a lack of clarity. Activity is not the some as productivity. We need to figure out what the right things are. That is effectiveness; discerning and doing the right things. That is completely different from doing all the things. The efficiency of doing all the things without focusing on effectiveness to do the right things will only lead to overwhelm, burnout and futility. I heard a quote many years ago that haunts me; Unsure of our direction we double our speed. While we all get paralysis from time to time many of us leaders have the bad habit of going faster when we don’t know where we’re doing. When we do this we are leading from insecurity. Eugene Peters

257 - Cassa Grant ”I’m an imposter! ...and other terrifying ideas”
09/12/2021 Duración: 36minOn Todays episode, Alan talks with leadership and branding coach Cassa Grant about living in Antarctica, how we're all insecure and how we can battle to gain confidence in life and leadership About Cassa I grew up on a ranch in Montana, became a teacher, a university lecturer, and worked in Antarctica supporting scientific research on and off for five years. Oh, and I also lived in Prague and drove an adventure travel bus around the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. Now I spend quite a bit of time in New Zealand. Along the way, I’ve heard some amazing stories (and made a few of my own). The nerdburger part of my story: My master’s thesis explored the use of green branding in the redevelopment of post-industrial spaces. Which basically means I delved into the psychology behind what makes people want to live in condos that are built on old toxic dumps. How did the redevelopment companies do it? Branding. Storytelling. But I want to use branding and storytelling to do good things. And I want to help you do

250 - Alan Briggs ” Creativity and Leadership”
16/11/2021 Duración: 52minYou may think "I don't have a creative bone in my body." However, if you are in leadership, you are creative. It may not be in the narrow sense that we've defined it, only within the arts. But leadership is helping to guide people into a new experience, challenge or preferred future and that journey is inherently creative. In this episode, we do something a little different. Alan had the opportunity to speak to a leadership class at Denver Seminary about creativity and leadership. Whether you classify yourself as a creative or not - if you are a leader in any sense of the word, this episode is for you.
