In this episode of the META Podcast, Marie-Amélie talks with Professor Harald Ulrik Sverdrup, who has previously been leading the research group on the application of System Dynamics to the analysis of extraction and exploitation of mineral resources at Industrial Engineering, University of Iceland, to understand how models like WILIAM are created to help us find our way through, resembling how the world operates across space and time. In theory, such models can help us make better choices or prepare better for what comes next. The reality is more puzzling. Can we trust a model to tell us something inherently unknown? And what if the model we have trusted to guide misses a decisive point?
