Type 2 diabetes was once considered a rare condition in the pediatric population, now however it accounts for about 15% to 45% of all newly diagnosed cases of diabetes in children and teenagers.The Diabetes Program at St. Louis Children's Hospital provides patients and their families a comprehensive approach to diabetes treatment for both Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes. Our mission is to provide patient care, teaching and research in all aspects of pediatric diabetes – from infants to young adults.
