This message considers the role of Isaac as the first covenant heir in the progress of God's covenant with Abraham and its outworking in the salvation history culminating with Jesus the Messiah. In particular, it examines the way the Genesis author constructs his narrative treatment of Isaac and the circumstances of his life as covenant heir.
