Sinopsis

The President of the Liberal Democrats has told BBC London 94.9 she felt like she was "just a package" after being told she couldn't get on a London bus because a child's buggy was in the wheelchair space. Baroness Sal Brinton, who uses a wheelchair, was asked to wait for the next bus. She is making a formal complaint to Transport for London. Baroness Brinton spoke to BBC London 94.9's Eddie Nestor this evening... Transport for London's Director of Buses Mike Weston told us: "I'm very sorry about Baroness Sal Brinton's experience. We have spoken to the bus operator Metroline and they are investigating. Our guidance to bus drivers clearly states that wheelchair users are to be given priority access to the dedicated space on our buses even if it is occupied by a buggy or other passengers".
