When Jesus tells us to "bear the cross", He didn’t mean the cross as some burden we must carry in our lives.  It means that we are to "die" to the things that will keep us from Him.  Bearing the cross will bring us closer to Christ, follow in His steps, allow us to become a part of a greater work, and change our lives forever.
