God has a different view of sin than we do. The world’s favorite scripture is “Judge not lest you be judged,” but this means we shouldn’t judge with a hypocritical heart. The Jews thought God owed them because they were better. God is long-suffering. He doesn’t approve of what we do but he has patience so that we might repent of our sin. The longer we don’t, the harder it becomes to do so. We can’t rest in our own righteousness. We’re just like those without the Lord, we just look different. We all need the blood of Jesus to cleanse us from our sins.
