Sinopsis
God has a different view of sin than we do. After chapter 1, the religious, who have a tendency to be a little snobbish, would feel superior to those condemned by their actions, but in chapter 2, Paul says we’re all guilty. We are all without excuse and without escape, yet we condemn others for their sins, the same things we are doing. The world’s favorite scripture is “Judge not lest you be judged,” but this means we shouldn’t judge with a hypocritical heart. The Jews thought God owed them because they were better. God is long-suffering. He doesn’t approve of what we do but he has patience so that we might repent of our sin. The longer we don’t, the harder it becomes to do so. We can’t rest in our own righteousness. We’re just like those without the Lord, we just look different. We all need the blood of Jesus to cleanse us from our sins.
