With the expansion draft coming up in the middle of December, the expansion teams (Utah Royals and Bay FC) are making trades to start their rosters. The biggest carrot the expansion sides have to entice teams to make trades is protection from selecting a player in the expansion draft. The Current made a deal with Bay FC to send Alex Loera there in exchange for allocation money and protection. That still leaves Utah with the opportunity to select a pair of players, so a protection list of nine players is not easy to determine.
