Earlier in life he studied Microbiology (B.A.) at the University of Missouri before pursuing theology at Duke University (M.Div.) and earning his doctorate in New Testament at Baylor University (Ph.D.). He also serves as a parishioner at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church in Waco.
