She Makes Waves

In this episode, I reflect on a recurring theme I've encountered throughout my career – the difference between being an actor and embodying character. From my days at Dairy Queen to my time at prestigious salons, I've observed individuals who excel at acting and those who consistently demonstrate character. The actor may impress initially, but their facade eventually crumbles, leaving behind only their true character. Conversely, those with genuine character withstand the test of time, earning respect and recognition through their consistent actions and integrity. Drawing from personal experiences, I share how I've learned to distinguish between the two and the impact it's had on my professional journey. Despite challenges in attracting employees of character, I've gained clarity and perspective, recognizing the importance of surrounding myself with genuine individuals.
