In Austin's sermon this week, we find ourselves looking at arguably the most important meal in all of history. The Passover meal had massive historical and cultural importance to Jewish people, as it was created to remind the Israelite people of how God freed them from slavery in Egypt through Moses. What we see in the text though is a different kind of Passover meal. Jesus is showing us what the Passover is really all about. We see that all of the Old Testament and Jesus' earthly ministry has been for this moment. The moment where He frees mankind from their slavery to sin, Satan, and death. Through Communion, we are invited to partake in and remember Jesus' sacrifice for us. A meal that we could never afford on our own, so graciously given.Want to connect with us?
