This week the full Oakland Council takes up the contentious issue of the city's use of ShotSpotter gunshot detection technology, used by the Oakland Police Department. Last week the council's Public Safety Committee did vote 2-1 to approve a new 2.5 Million three year contract with the company that provides service.
