As the families of five young men mourned, investigators began to circle around their top suspect, Bevan Spencer von Einem. From the outside looking in, von Einem was incredibly average: a middle-aged accountant for a mid-level supplies company, who lived at home with his mother and regularly endeared himself to her older friends. But underneath the surface, a monster lingered, and police quickly tagged von Einem as the culprit in the latest of the five murders. In the decades since, though, the other four crimes have gone non-prosecuted.
