On May 16, 2004, a man walked into Jerry's Flower Shop looking for flowers for his mother. As Cynthia McDermid reached down to grab something under the counter for the man, she rose to see a gun four inches from her face and heard demands for cash from the register. Her brother, Randy, Came from the back to see what was going on. As Randy confronted the gunman, Cynthia ran out of the shop to the sound of two gunshots.
