Sinopsis
The Lockheed F-117A Nighthawk was a wonder of the aviation world when it first appeared at air shows and exhibitions in 1989. Looking like something that Darth Vader might fly in a STAR WARS movie, the Nighthawk was the first warplane designed with signiture reduction ("stealth") at the core of its design. At the time, the Nighthawk was a generation ahead of any other aircraft or defensive system of its era. During its three decades of service, the F-117A flew combat missions during numerous air campaigns from Panama to the Persian Gulf. And for the dozens of books and hundreds of magazine articles, there have been surprisingly few actual accounts of what it was like to fly the Nighthawk into combat. That has changed however, with the publication by Zenith Press (@Zenith_Press) of STEALTH FIGHTER: A YEAR IN THE LIFE OF AN F-117 PILOT. So join military historian, author and journalist John D. Gresham for Military Monday (#MilitaryMonday on the WriteStream Radio Network (#Writestream)) at 1 p.m. Eastern today
