Everyone who writes news for a living dreams of the day when they can add the title of, “Award-Winning Investigative Journalist,” to their resume and business card. But very few of those who throw such titles around, ever put much on the line to earn it. Fewer still risk anything of significance, or their freedom to pursue a story of national importance. Those who do, sometimes win Pulitzer Prizes or Emmys for writing books, newspaper articles or broadcast journalism. But there is a rare breed, those who write content for newsmagazines and journals, who are eligible for another investigative journalism prize: the American Business Media's Timothy White Award for Editorial Integrity.
