Canon Christine M. Faulstich - June 1, 2025 This week we are visited by Canon Christine Faulstich who reflects on the occupational hazards we all face—the temptation to become certain rather than curious, cynical rather than hopeful, and callous rather than compassionate. Drawing from the story of Paul and the possessed slave girl in Acts, she explores how even the apostle Paul sometimes did "the right thing for the wrong reasons" when his frustration got the better of him. Faulstich challenges us to remember that people are not objects or means to our ends, but beloved children of God worthy of dignity and respect. In our rush to accomplish our goals and check items off our lists, we can lose sight of both our own fundamental identity and the belovedness of those around us. She reminds us that we're all traveling toward the same destination—home to the heart of God—and that our worth isn't defined by our résumés or achievements, but by being "marked as Christ's own forever."
