In John 15:18–25, Jesus prepares His disciples for a reality we often resist—faithful obedience will not earn the world's approval but may instead bring its rejection. In this sermon, we see that the world's hatred is not a failure of our witness, but a reflection of our union with Christ, who was first rejected. Jesus exposes the deeper cause behind this opposition: a world that does not know God and refuses the truth clearly revealed in Him. Yet even this rejection is not random—it fulfills God's sovereign plan. Rather than being surprised or silenced, believers are called to stand firm, speak clearly, and embrace the privilege of being identified with Christ, even when it costs.
