He looks back on his unlikely path into comics, from breaking into newspaper strips with guidance from his mentor, Cathy creator Cathy Guisewite, to meeting legendary Peanuts cartoonist Charles M. Schulz. He also reflects on his life-changing experience as a cast member on MTV’s The Real World and how his acclaimed graphic novel Pedro and Me, chronicling his friendship with Pedro Zamora, brought him to the attention of DC Comics and launched the next chapter of his career.
