These events are community-based and are meant to facilitate conversation and education. Following the discussion led by our moderator, the floor is opened for questions and comments from the crowd. Politics and social media have run hand in hand over the past decade or so. We saw an uptick in the acceptance of political figureheads communicating with their constituents via Twitter and Facebook during President Obama’s terms in office.
