In Christ Jesus, God is offering the world peace with Himself. Peace is the fruit of forgiveness that we simply cannot do without. Without forgiveness, there is no peace (Colossians 1:20-22). God paints a picture, through His prophet (Isaiah 59:2-15), of life without the peace that forgiveness affords. It is not a pleasant picture.
