Inspired by the likes of Sara Bareilles and Alessia Cara, so far, 2017 has seen Long Island native SydneyRay become established as an artist who is truly one to watch. However, she’s certainly not resting on her laurels and has big plans for the remainder of the year. Having been diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease at the age of 11, she found support and strength through music, giving her the motivation she needed to endure multiple tests and treatments. As many individuals undergoing treatment for a condition do, she turned to writing her thoughts and feelings down in a journal, eventually turning her emotions into lyrics to create her own original songs. Now, with several releases planned for the coming months, her new single “Big” serves as a fantastic introduction for those who have yet to discover the talents of this gifted singer-songwriter.
