So there is this article where German researchers have discovered that only 3 % of YouTubers make any “real kind of money”. The rest, the 97% are below the poverty line. This article works as a warning to parents to crush their kids dreams. I don’t agree with this article for several reasons. 01 The top 3% didn’t just get lucky over night, they worked hard for YEARS to get to the level where they are at. 02 YouTubing is something you can and should do as a side project/hobby/passion. Nobody leaves job to pursue a youtube career. 03 YouTubers rarely make all their money through adsense, they push e-books, affiliate programs, they have sponsors. 04 Youtube was launched 13 years ago. Its a bit early to condemn it, social media is just getting started, and and once you figure out the what is and whats its, you realise “its never going back.” Lets face it, the old geezers of old media are terrified of the new world.
