An ex-serviceman from South Yorkshire is attempting to climb Mount Everest for a second time after he had to abandon his first attempt 500m from the summit. Les Binns cut short his climb to save the life of an Indian woman sliding down the mountain. The former member of the Light Dragoons served in the British Army for 13 years and was injured in an bomb blast in Afghanistan. The incident left Les blind in one eye.
