An army reservist with almost 30 years of experience has been recognised for his service at the Lord Lieutenant Awards in Hampshire. Major John Baker was honoured for his welfare work as notification officer with the Royal Signals at a ceremony at the Guildhall in Winchester. Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenants are the representatives of the Crown for each county in the United Kingdom. They are appointed directly by Her Majesty The Queen, on the advice of the Prime Minister. The annual Lord-Lieutenants’ Awards for Reservists, Cadet Force Adult Volunteers (CFAVs), cadets and employees of the Reserve Forces and Cadet Organisations of theArmed Forces are recognised as honours throughout the Ministry of Defence.
