Parenting is tough, when my kids are not listening, it is natural to threaten them with some crazy consequences. However, if we are not going to go through with what we say, they have no meaning. Our words become empty with less power and weight. James 5:12 "Above all, my brothers and sisters, do not swear—not by heaven or by earth or by anything else. All you need to say is a simple “Yes” or “No.” Otherwise you will be condemned." When you say something, be sure to follow through with it.
