Holiness is not something God tries to do or him behaving in a certain way. Holiness is who God is. It goes far beyond moral purity. God’s holiness reveals all of his other attributes in their greatest glory. At the cross, the justification of Christ on the cross imparted God’s holiness to those who believe. God doesn’t grow or shrink back in his holiness. He is fully, infinitely and perfectly holy at all times.
